On August 30, 2008 throughout the day a man fired several automatic weapons and detonated hand grenades in close proximity to Interstate-75 in Ohio. The police, sherriff and FBI were called but we were told that the man had permits for the weapons. One of the responding officers told us he believed the man was in possession of several military-grade weapons, including a fifty caliber machine gun with armor-piercing bullets, and hand grenades. The grenade detonations were loud enough to shake the barns and the house, not to mention scare the daylights out of all the horses. The weapons fire was close enough that I believe there was a serious risk of stray bullets hitting a passing vehicle on the interstate, or coming across the interstate and hitting one of our barns.I am absolutely outraged that this was allowed to occur, and that apparently this man was issued permits to discharge such dangerous weapons so close to a populated area and major interstate. Law enforcement has done nothing, so I decided to post this video and let the public decide for themselves if they think this is a bit on the ridiculous side.I don’t need any smart-mouthed comments about the narration either. This was originally recorded to be presented to the police as evidence. They declined to accept the video.I’m all for the second amendment and the right to bear arms, but that doesn’t give people the right to discharge extremely dangerous weapons in such an irresponsible manner.Oh, and although I say something about bullets ricocheting off our barn in the video, no bullets or bullet holes were found even though several people that were there said it sounded like they were hitting the barn.
